We Norwegians have a love for Italy and very often we choose Italy as a destination. It is something this country has and which we Norwegians hunt for.
The good life. The good wine, the food and the experience we will live in through the dark autumn and winter months in Norway.
We arrive in the city of Alba during this year’s truffle festival and just after the harvest has taken place. winery Angelo Negro, on one of Piedmont’s finest vineyards. We also visit a manufacturer in Barolo / La Morra.
Welcome to the famous Barbera, Barbaresco and Barolovians homeland.
Palmer uses his good contacts to choose places to visit, live and eat. It gives experiences you do not get on your own.

The bus awaits us, it takes a short stopping on the road, then moving on to a wonderfully charming Agriturrisimo in Piedmont. Le Querce del Vareglio for a lovely place.

Friday 3 November
After breakfast, this is the day of truffle hunting and visits to the wine producer and the Angelo Negro family. The heartwarming family shows us the beautiful vineyard. After the truffle hunt we taste wines, some fresh dishes from the barrel of other stored vintage wines in a
fascinating wine cellar. An aperitif was enjoyed before the mother of the family Maria Elisa prepares a delicious lunch with specialties from the area and the best wines. Who knows? Perhaps we can serve the self-hunting «gold of the forest»?
After a long lunch, there is room for a simple dinner at Alba’s local pizzeria.
Saturday 4 November
First a delicious breakfast, but then it’s our day in Alba and at the Trøffelfestival.
This famous festival is organized here every year in October and November. We stay here all morning. The food and truffle festival is an experience in itself. Those who want to can participate in a small guided tour to get an overview before discovering the city on their own. Full of impressions and experiences, we first visit Barolo, where we visit a renowned Baroque producer and taste the area’s specialties – afterwards we set our nose to La Morra and have a late lunch at a magnificent viewpoint in this well-known wine town. We travel «home» again met with both impressions and good food. Here at Le Querce await a lighter dinner.
